BAY by Banu Gaidar

BAY by Banu Gaidar is a Kazakhstani brand of contemporary clothing with elements of national design. It was founded in 2025 by the designer and entrepreneur Banu Gaidar, who began her fashion career in 2012 with the wedding business Erkesylkym. BAY develops contemporary everyday and outer clothing that brings together Kazakh national ornaments, current silhouettes and new materials. One of the key design elements is qoshqar muiz, a traditional Kazakh ornament.

The brand does not copy historical dress. It reinterprets the Kazakh cultural code in the language of contemporary design: ornament is not decoration on top of a garment but part of its artistic concept.

Tumar, qoshqar muiz, qusqanat and solar motifs, together with the image of the kiiz ui (yurt) and the symbolism of the shanyraq.

    A basic oversize T-shirt with a signature interpretation of Kazakh symbols and ornaments. Made of dense cotton, unisex fit. In the BAY “Large Yurt” model the image of the kiiz ui becomes the central element of the embroidery and symbolises the shanyraq, the hearth, unity and national spirit. The T-shirt pairs easily with everyday clothes and can be worn on its own or as a first layer under the BAY ethno bomber.

    A signature oversize bomber with Kazakh ornament, made of dense tapestry fabric. The contemporary design brings together the national cultural code, comfort and urban aesthetics. At its core are traditional Kazakh ornaments, tumar, qoshqar muiz and solar motifs, reinterpreted in contemporary graphics. A relaxed unisex fit gives freedom of movement, and the dense fabric, functional details and quality hardware make it practical for an everyday city wardrobe. Each model is made in a limited edition, which underlines its signature character.

Erkesylkym

Erkesylkym by Banu Gaidar is a wedding business founded in 2012. Its network of salons is present in four cities of Kazakhstan: Atyrau, Uralsk, Aktobe and Aktau. It offers wedding dresses, national dresses, rental of festive clothing and the creation of looks for celebrations. The rental collection has grown to a thousand dresses, and the salons have dressed more than 100,000 brides.
